WHAT ARE TYPICAL MEETINGS LIKE?
At QSA, there is no such thing as typical. We are continually changing our meetings to accommodate for all aspects of needs within the LGBTTQQIAA community. Most meetings are usually group discussions, however we have a variety of other activities. From movie nights, social outings, workshops, and guest speakers, we are continually developing to meet the needs of the current general body.

We are very opened to hear suggestions for programming and what we can do to better cater to community and individual needs. We use the phrase “social and political” because while we center mostly around the social interactions of our community, we also hold ourselves politically responsible and responsive. Previous members have spoken with celebrities such as Anderson Cooper and Lance Bass in articulating individual and community needs.

Yes! We continually are welcoming to new members and there is no exact date to join. Your participation is dependent on your own personal comfort and we will accommodate for all levels. In addition, you can be involved with multiple LGBTQ organizations on campus. We welcome all!

DO I HAVE TO BE "OUT" TO ATTEND?
You do not have to be out to come a meeting. Members of the Queer Student Alliance strive to create a safe space for students with a spectrum of comfort in their gender and sexuality identities.

Allies are absolutely welcomed at all events, programs, and meetings! We rely on a strong ally community both within and outside of Rutgers University and look forward to working with our allied members.
